How to make 

Southern Cornbread and Sausage Dressing

Ingredients

- Stale cornbread - Stale bread - Sausage - Butter - Onion - Celery - Bell pepper (optional) - Garlic - Sage - Poultry seasoning - Thyme - Salt & pepper - Eggs - Broth

Cube breads and leave out to turn stale.

Preheat oven and start browning sausage.

Add butter, veggies, and garlic. Cook until softened.

Melt a stick of butter and warm up the broth. Whisk eggs into slightly warmed broth.

Stir together breads and veggies. Add seasonings. Pour broth over the top. Check for desired seasoning and moisture.

Pour into greased 9 x 13 and drizzle with melted butter.

Bake uncovered for crispier dressing or covered for softer dressing.

Tip

If you forgot to leave your breads out to stale overnight you can toast them in the oven a while to dry out to use.
