Southern Smothered Green Beans

Ingredients

-Bacon -Onion -Garlic -Fresh green beans -Chicken broth -Brown sugar -Butter Salt & pepper

Cook bacon in a large Dutch oven.

Pick out any poor-quality beans, string them, and wash them.

Add onion and garlic to bacon.

Stir in green beans, chicken broth, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Bring to a slight boil, cover, and lower heat to a gentle simmer.

Simmer until desired tenderness, anywhere from 20 minutes to 3 hours.
