Like many, this time of year is my busy season between work and getting things ready for the holidays. While I like to give back throughout the year, I will admit I do often get super wrapped up in what I’m doing and all the deadlines and forget the little things. That’s one reason I am enjoying the UPS #WishesDelivered campaign so much. UPS is featuring the people and organizations that are dedicated to making their communities, country, and the world a better place by delivering wishes in their own way.
One of the videos that UPS released which really moved me were the handmade scarves Leslye Borden and her friends have knitted and given to women that have been affected by domestic violence. Being a victim of abuse and violence can be such a lonely and cold place, but I can only imagine just how comforting it is to be able to wrap yourself up in a warm scarf that someone went to the trouble to make just for you. Stories like this and others that UPS has shared warm my heart and definitely inspire me to do more good in the world.
Seeing all the good others are doing inspired me to buy more pet food to donate so that kitties like this one have extra-full bellies this holiday season.
UPS is making it easy for all of us to give back this holiday season with their #WishesDelivered campaign, too. Not only can you share someone doing good in your own community on the #WishesDelivered Site, but you can also share a #WishesDelivered story from the site on Instagram or Twitter (make sure you include the #WishesDelivered hashtag) and UPS will donate $1 to one of their charity partners (Boys & Girls Club of America, World Food Programme, Toys for Tots Literacy Program, The Salvation Army, The UN Refugee Agency). I just love this because not only are you helping out a lot of awesome charities, but you’re sharing good which also inspires others that see it to do good. I truly believe this is such a positive chain reaction! What’s your wish? I’d love if you’d leave a comment with your wish or favorite story you saw at the #WishesDelivered site below!
