Do you ever see those iconic brown UPS trucks and wonder what all they’re carrying? Between our own deliveries and living near an airport, we see quite a few, especially this time of year. I can only imagine how many carefully wrapped toys, tins of holiday cookies and more they must be carrying that we’ve been waiting on and wishing for all year. It makes me smile to think about those beloved gifts reaching their destination home waiting to be unwrapped, enjoyed and loved, even if family and friends can’t be near this holiday season.
UPS knows just how important all those packaged wishes are to both those sending and receiving them, too. Running November 10th and through the end of the year (December 31, 2014), the UPS #WishesDelivered campaign will be donating to a number of their charity partners, up to $100K in total donations. The best part is that you can help! All you have to do is submit your wish for someone else (’tis the season to be selfless, after all) on Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #WishesDelivered. If you’re not much for social networks, you can also go to the #WishesDelivered site and submit your wish there. Each submitted wish will result in a $1 donation!
My #WishesDelivered Wish
My wish may be a bit corny and expected, but I truly wish for it all year long. My wish is that all year long, everyone, humans and animals included, could have a full belly, warm bed and know what it feels like to be loved and appreciated. If that were to happen, I could only imagine how much more beautiful of a world we would live in! We always try to donate as much food as possible to local food pantries and animal shelters. I am thankful that we have also been able to adopt a couple kittens to ensure they have a full belly, warm bed and definitely know what it feels like to be loved.
I think one of our rescues looks pretty comfy here purring away. :)
